Re-Entry
I am re-entering the blogging world in 07. I decided to get a better blogging site too. So I popped for the entry level typepad because it offers some cool features – and a pastor I admire uses it.
I’ve blogged in the past but felt like I didnt have anything to say. But thats not true. I am a Christ follower and a pastor. I have an incredible mission in life and I want to be as effective as I can for God’s Kingdom. Over the past few months i’ve been insprired by guys like Perry Noble, Mark Batterson, and Tony Morgan.
Their blogs are more than their daily musings about their self centered lives or commentaties on the social or cultural scene. They are guys who are forging the way through the darkness of this world using the current trends in technolgy and encouraging thousands of Christ followers in a movement to change the world. I see in their blogs and see excitement, enthusiasm, and encouragement for what the church could be and should be.
Compared to their churches – my church is small. A drop in a bucket so to speak. But we resonate with the same vison and desire to be world changers. My goal for 07 is to raise my level of leadership by following leaders who are getting the job done. If Perry Noble can be used by God to grow a church from 4000 to 8000 in a year, Dave Anderson can be used by God to grow a church from 125 to 250. The bible says in 1 Samuel 14:6
Nothing can hinder the LORD from saving, whether by many or by few."
And before I get criticized (like anyone reads this yet) – its not about the numbers. Its about people and their lives. I want people in Decatur Alabama to know the riches of a life in Jesus Christ and the church is the vehicle to make that happen. I hope and pray that 07 will be the year that God explodes Crosspoint Church and I have no choice but to quit my secular job and go to full time ministry.
