Sunday Rewind – July 4 Edition

  • Today we kicked off At the Movies at Crosspoint with The Book of Eli
  • It was AWESOME!
  • We had a lobby full of activity – Guitar Hero, Dance Dance Revolution, and an Emcee
  • We had smoothies, popcorn and candy plus our regular beverage service.
  • Got our great set up volunteers Hardees Biscuits this AM.  They did awesome on a holiday weekend.
  • Had fun teaching about the Word of God using this movie.  Sorry I spoiled it for some of you.  If you havent seen it, watch it.
  • I was exhausted when I got home.  Ate and took a nice long nap.
  • Went over to The House of Rock this afternoon and cleaned up some junk.
  • The inside contractors are MESSY MESSY MESSY.  I bet I hauled out 100lb of plastic bottles, food wrappers, cans, cigarette boxes, gravel and dirt.  Just did the auditorium.
  • I guess I was bored – but I really want to pressure wash the steel so we can paint it after they hang the duct.  I should have done this a month ago.  Oh well.  We got smart people and we’ll figure it out – or maybe the contractor will do it.
  • The outside is nearly complete.  They have a small amount of trim to do, some doors to hang, and windows to install.  Then its all inside.
  • I gave my momma a tour today.  We’ll be having some guided tours in a few weeks.
  • We got our gear list nearly final for outfitting the building.  We’ll come in WAY under budget and have GREAT stuff!
  • The sound system will be second to none in Decatur.  We’ll probably have the only HD video system.  And our light show wont suck.
  • The fusion rooms will be electric – the kids are going to go nuts!
  • Decided not to take in any fireworks tonight.  Im out on crowds and im just plain tired.
  • Im sure my redneck neighbors will keep me entertained well into the night and my dog will go bonkers.
  • Proud to live in the greatest country in the world and proud to have my dad and son in law serve in the armed forces and combat.
  • The greatest freedom is Jesus Christ and Im proud to be a Christian and Pastor the greatest Church in the world!
  • Happy 4th of July!
