The House of Rock Transition

In just a couple months we will begin our transition to The House of Rock.  There is still a LOT to be done but as we get closer there will be a lot of things going on simultaneously.  We are working a transition plan that includes learning new gear, training volunteers, starting up new ministries, and transitioning people from ministries we wont need any longer.

A huge transition will be the people on our set up teams.  Our setup is the most labor intensive part of ministry in the theater.  Thankfully we have great people who have poured their hearts into it.  They have earned a well deserved reset.  But that doesn’t mean they will stop doing ministry.  There will be much to do – and more time to to do it in The House of Rock.  Some of the ministries that will be starting or expanding are:

Production Team:

Our production team is responsible for everything from lighting to video projection to sound mixing.  We will have a lot more gear to run in the new venue and we will need computer operators, light show operators, sound mixers, camera operators, stage hands are more.

A lot of our set up team will be needed on these crews since we have two services.  If you like technical things and fast paced work then this is a great place to serve.

Building Maintenance Team

We will have two basic teams taking care  of our facility.  During the week we will need things repaired, stuff will have to be cleaned, grass will be mowed, flower beds weeded, and general facility upkeep.  If you like working with your hands and have a mechanical or electrical aptitude then this is a great place to serve.

On the weekend we’ll need a crew to make sure restrooms are cleaned and stocked, auditorium is cleaned and ready, and ensure that the facility is refreshed between services.  This team will be one of our dream teams and everything they do will be noticed (or everything that doesn’t get done)

Parking Team:

We’ll have a smaller lot and more cars at The House of Rock.  Having a team working parking logistics will be critical to making a first impression.  We’ll have people at the entrance and the back lot parking cars, making sure guests get great spots, and even making sure a single mom has a great space and someone to carry her baby in.  Heck, we may even get a tram or offer car washes.  If you love people but don’t necessarily like to talk to people – parking ministry is a great way to serve.

Cafe Team

We provide a really good cafe experience in the theater.  But its going to a whole new level in The House of Rock.  The Crosspoint Coffee Bar (or some other better name) will offer a full coffee house experience that will rival Starbucks.  Espresso, Cappuccino, Latte, and yes, a regular cup of Joe will be offered along with soft drinks and specialty items.

The Coffee Bar isn’t just a Sunday operation however.  We plan to open The Coffee Bar to the public on weekday mornings and staff it with volunteers.  Any profit from The Coffee Bar will go toward mission endeavors in the US and World Wide.  If you like coffee, or serving people or have a food service background then The Coffee Bar is where you want to be!

These are a few of the opportunities available in addition to what we do now.  If you want more information go to the Contact Us page on the website.  Set up team leaders will be discussing options with their team members very soon.  Exciting times ahead at Crosspoint!
