Crosspoint Student Ministry News

This week we met with our student ministry staff and talked about the future of our student ministry at Crosspoint.  For a while now our volunteer student ministry leaders have had to do a lot with very little.  Without a place to meet and without much money they have done a great job facilitating our weekly meetings.

We want to make a huge impact in the life of students and now its time to take things to a new level.  After months of prayer and consideration, our staff decided the best thing at this time is to get personally involved.  For the last couple of years we have taken a hands off approach but this summer our volunteers told us that in order to go to the next level it will take our staff being more involved and making student ministry a priority.

We listened to them and we listened to God and we are pleased to announce that this fall our student ministry will be positioned to take new ground and impact more kids for Christ.  Specifically here is what we are working on:

The Crosspoint staff will be responsible for vision, promoting, staffing (with volunteers) and programming for our student ministry.  Then we will:

Re-envision

We exist to help Student Celebrate Jesus, Connect with him and Believers and Contribute to the mission of the church. Our mission is the same as that of the church but focused on students.

We envision a student ministry that engages students in a relevant worship experience, a meaningful relationship with Christ and other believers, and a responsible place to serve in the body of Christ and the ministry of Crosspoint Church.

Re-vamp

Instead of weekly bible study, group and game time we think we can create more energy and momentum with a large group worship experience and teaching that is on par with our adult ministry.  Because this is intensive and we don’t have the resources we need we feel we should do this on a monthly basis for the time being.

To do this right will take some time.  We will take the month of August and part of September off to retool and prepare for a fall re-launch.

Re-Brand

We will re-brand the student ministry with a new name, new logo, and new face, which will give us momentum going into our new facility.

Re-Launch

Re-launch the new student ministry in the fall shortly after labor day.  Kickoff at my house with parents and students to share vision and build momentum and welcome the new kids coming out of fusion.

We are proud of our student ministry and can’t wait to see what God does this fall!

When the House of Rock is ready in mid October, Student Ministry worship will be held in the main auditorium of The House of Rock
