Seven Conviction of Leadership Part 2
This is the second of two part series – Seven Convictions of Leadership. Read Part 1 here.
4) Character
Satan isn’t coming after your ministry – he’s coming after your character. Last week – famous televangelist Benny Hinn made the news – his wife divorced him and now its found out he had a little fling going on with another televangelist – Paula White. Nothing will destroy you faster than losing your character. You can get your money back, overcome a health issue, but if you lose your character you lost it all.
5) Courage
Joshua 1: 6 “Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. 7 Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Courage allows you to face three things!
a) your critics
b) failure
c) success
If you want to be successful you may have to give up your position. Some people don’t have the courage for success because it means they might have to give up something
6) Commands
Gods word is the final authority
Jeremiah – he would hear the word of God, he would speak the word of God, he would do the word of God.
There are a lot people speaking the word and doing the word but they have never heard the word of God.
Our theology must drive our methodology
When try and operate today’s church on yesterday’s revelation you are in trouble.
7) Calling
We have all experienced the silence of God in our lives. Every time I feel like I cant hear his voice he takes me back to my calling.
What has God called you to do? When did he call you to do it? When you are unsure – that’s what you go back to.
